How many connection are on line [message #266590]

Hi. Is it possible to see how many connection are on at some point? I want ot check because sometimes I get this message "cannot create connection using schema...". I have increased to number of connections from 250 to 500, but I still have this problem. Any idea why? Thank you!

I am using Windows 2003 server. The oracle version is oracle 92.

 select count(*) from v$session;
